Summer is flying by, and the new school year is quickly approaching. Below are a few ideas to fill up that last bit of summer and get out and enjoy the beautiful weather all together as a family!

Outdoor outings

Rattlesnake Lake – North Bend Enjoy an easy ¾ mile hike around the southeast edge of the lake, accessible for the whole family. Up for more of a challenge? Beginning at Rattlesnake Lake, the first 2-mile section to Rattlesnake Ledge Trail is one of the most popular hiking trails in the region. Expect to encounter many hikers and dogs on the trail and use extreme caution around exposed cliffs and steep drops. The Rattlesnake Mountain Trail is cooperatively maintained by Seattle Public Utilities, King County and Washington Department of Natural Resources with help from the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust trail crews and volunteers. The Rattlesnake Mountain Trail continues west, gaining elevation, for 9 more miles to Snoqualmie Point Park. The Rattlesnake Mountain is also known as Rattlesnake Ridge on many maps. Willis Tucker Splash Pad/Community Park – 6705 Puget Park Dr, Snohomish, WA 98296 Open from 10am-7pm daily until mid-September when the weather starts to cool down, Willis Tucker Park offers a super fun splash pad section for all ages, sandbox, playground, picnic shelters, volleyball nets, and two multipurpose sports fields.

Create some fun little bugs, creatures, flowers, food, whatever you can think of!

  • Put a sprinkler under a trampoline and go nuts!

  • Balloon boppers Take a large sponge like you would use to wash a car or windows and put it on the edge of a ruler or wide stick. Bat around a balloon or two and don’t let it touch the ground
